Data on the Legend

In any 2D Chart Type, the Legend displays the values for the option selected in the Group by dropdown. For example, if the field “Priority” is selected in the Group by dropdown, each row of the legend will represent a value from the Priority field (i.e. High, Medium, Low).

For a Pie Chart or Funnel Chart, the Legend displays the values for the option selected in the Chart by dropdown. For example, if the field “Assignee” is selected in the Chart by dropdown, each row of the will Legend represent a value from the Assignee field.


How to Customize The Legend

  1. Hover over the specific gadget until you see a set of 3 vertical dots. Click the dots, then choose Edit gadget

  2. After you’ve configured the foundation of the chart, navigate to the right side of the gadget and click the Legend tab. All legend settings are housed here

Legend Settings Detailed Breakdown

  1. Show legend: if toggled on (green) legend shows on chart. If toggled off (grey) legend hidden from chart

  2. Legend Options: customize the position and layout of the legend

    1. Legend position: dropdown that adjusts the placement of the legend on your chart

    2. Legend layout: dropdown that adjusts the layout of the legend on your chart

    3. Limit legend rows: number field that sets the maximum number of rows that can appear on your legend

    4. Show legend headings: if toggled on (green), headers for each column in the Legend (the Calculation and the Group by selections) show on chart. If toggled off (grey), headers for each column in the Legend hidden from chart

    5. Show number column ONLY ON CERTAIN CHARTS: if toggled on (green), number column shows as first column on Legend. If toggled off (grey), number column hidden from chart

    6. Show total row ONLY ON CERTAIN CHARTS: if toggled on (green), row shows at bottom of Legend indicating the total of the Calculation (i.e. if calculation is Issue Count, the row will include the total number of issues). If toggled off (grey), total row hidden from Legend

    7. Legend Columns: hide, show, and reorder columns on the Legend

      1. On some charts, users can add additional calculations by clicking + Add column in the Legend columns section. For example, if Issue Count is the primary calculation on the chart, users can add another column to display Average Story Points.
