Features

Overview

  • The Features tab is used to enable and disable certain features that come with Custom Charts for Jira

  • Use the toggle to enable a feature (green with a checkmark = enabled) or disable a feature (grey with an x = disabled)

  • All features are enabled by default

  • Use the expander arrow next to the feature name to read more about a feature

Legend

The Legend is not a feature that can be enabled or disabled. It is there specifically to help Jira Admins understand:

  • If a feature they are looking to enable/disable is available for their type of Jira instance (Cloud, Server, Data Center)

  • If enabling a feature stores gadget configuration data on our Servers ( We DO NOT store your Jira data). Click here to learn more.

Data Sources Feature

Cloud only stores configuration

If Data Sources are enabled, Jira Admins will see the separate Data Sources tab in the Custom Charts Admin Settings. Here, they can connect pre-defined Data Sources to Custom Charts. This allows users to display data that is not stored on Jira issues. Learn more about this specific tab here.

To enable the feature, click the toggle so it turns green with a white checkmark. To disable the feature, click the toggle so it turns grey with a white x.


Issue List Feature

Custom Charts for Jira comes with several gadgets, including the Issue List gadget. This gadget gives users the option to display Jira issues as lines on a list, with each column on the list representing specific Jira fields. If the feature is enabled, users can access the Issue List gadget when they click to add a gadget to a Jira Dashboard. Learn more about our Issue List gadget here.

To enable the feature, click the toggle so it turns green with a white checkmark. To disable the feature, click the toggle so it turns grey with a white x.

 


Shared Dashboards Feature

Custom Charts for Jira comes with several gadgets, including the Shared Dashboards gadget (in Jira Cloud only). This gadget gives users the to display Custom Charts reports in a Jira Service Management portal to Customers. If the feature is enabled, users can access the Shared Dashboard gadget when they click to add a gadget to a Jira Dashboard. Learn more about our Shared Dashboard gadget here.

To enable the feature, click the toggle so it turns green with a white checkmark. To disable the feature, click the toggle so it turns grey with a white x.


Templates Feature

Stores configuration

The Custom Charts gadget comes with 8 Templates, which are pre-configured Custom Charts reports that users can load into the gadget at the click of a button. If the feature is enabled, users will see and access the Templates section in Custom Charts gadgets. Jira Admins will also see a Template Options tab in the Custom Charts Admin Settings where they can manage Template access and creation permissions. Learn more about Templates here.
