Custom Jira Charts for Confluence Display Option: Calculate percentages of segments out of a single Bar, Row, or Line total

Overview

Originally in Custom Charts Jira Charts for Confluence, users were only able to see the percentage of the total of an entire data set on a chart. Now, in 2D bar charts, 2D line charts, and 2D table charts, users have the option to display the percentage of the total of a specific data segment on a chart, i.e. the percentage of a single bar, line, or row.

What does this percentage display option look like in Custom Charts?

In the 2D Stacked Bar Chart below, each bar represents an Epic, and each segment of the bar represents the Status of issues in each Epic. The option to calculate the percentage of the single bar count is selected in the Chart Display Options. In the example, when the user hovers over the “Done” segment of the bar representing issues in Epic D, the percentage is 25%. That’s because there are 16 issues total in Epic D (see screenshot 1), and 4 are in the “Done” status (see screenshot 2). If the option were not selected, the percentage would be 6%, as it would calculate the segment amount out of the entire set of issues in every Epic (64 issues).
