What is the chart macro?

Based on confluence support documentation on extending confluence functionality, chart macro is a visual functionality that,

allows you to display a chart based on tabular data. When you add the macro to a page, you:

Supply the data to be charted by the macro as a table in the placeholder of the macro.

Edit the macro parameters in the Macro Browser to configure the format of the chart.

How to integrate chart macro with External Share for confluence

In order to view the chart on an external share link, simply create a chart on your confluence page, you can achieve this using the “/Insert” functionality.

  1. type /chart

  2. Next, add your data to the chart

The chart will be displayed once the page is published, however, External share will not display the chart yet.

Steps to integrate

From the chart settings,

  1. Select an image format

    • PNG

    • JPG

  2. Give a name to the “Attachment” field

Both fields are required for the chart to display on External Share

Attachment field name must be unique to the chart
