Jira
Click Add gadget while editing a dashboard and type Custom Charts in the search
Select the first gadget from the list, Custom Charts
Go to the newly added gadget, and edit the Source field to choose which issues are included in the chart
Navigate to the Chart By dropdown and choose a Jira field, Custom JQL, Saved Filter, or Date to break that data down further
In the bottom right hand corner of the gadget or macro, click Save

Confluence
While editing a page, click +˅ in the editorand type Custom Charts in the search
Select the first macro from the list, Custom Charts
Edit the newly added macro, then edit the Source field to choose which issues are included in the chart
Navigate to the Chart By dropdown and choose a Jira field, Custom JQL, Saved Filter, or Date to break that data down further
In the bottom right-hand corner of the gadget or macro, click Insert

Required! The Source tells Custom Charts the Jira issues to display on your chart. The options are:
| Required! The Chart By dropdown tells Custom Charts how to segment the Jira data on your chart. For example, if you choose a Pie Chart, the Chart By indicates the slices of the Pie Chart. The options are:
| Required on 2D Charts! The Group By dropdown is only visible on 2-dimensional charts. It tells Custom Charts how to horizontally segment the Jira data on your chart. For example, if you choose a 2D Stacked Bar Chart, the Chart By indicates the segments of the vertical bars on the chart. The options are:

Required! The Calculate dropdown tells Custom Charts how to measure the Jira data on your chart. The default is issue count, meaning the total of each segment of the chart will be the number of Jira issues that meet the Source, Chart By, and/or Group By selection. The options are:
| The Chart Title text box allows you to add a title to your chart. The title appears by default at the top of your chart, but can be positioned differently. Both text and emojis are supported. | The Chart Type determines how the Source data, Chart By data, and/or Group By data are visually represented on the Dashboard. You can change the chart type at any time. The options are:

The Live Preview gives chart creators the ability to see a preview of the chart before saving the gadget/macro. Most edits made to the chart can be seen here. | Use the Chart Settings to customize the look and feel of your charts. Here, you can adjust number and date formats, x and y-axis details, and more (learn more here). | The Save button will save the chart and any changes to the Dashboard.
